Bryansk
Bryansk is one of the 89 regional centers of Russia. It is a rather large city - the population of Bryansk is over 430,000 people.
The age of city is more then a 1000 years. Bryansk was mentioned in annals under 985.

Dyat'kovo
Dyat'kovo has got the city status in 1938. Nowadays the population of Dyat'kovo is about 34,000 people.
This city is widely known as a center of producing crystal. Some yaers ago a unique temple with a crystal iconostasis was built in Dyat'kovo.
Many beautiful art compositions made of crystal and glass are presented in the Dyat'kovo's Museum of Crystal.

Fokino
This small town (with population of 15,000 people) is known due the largest in Europe cement-producing factory "PortlandCement".
The factory was fond more than a hundred years ago, while Fokino became a city in 1964.

Karachev
Karachev is a very old town (1146), but almost all it's old architecture was lost during the Secold World war.
The population of mordern Karachev is 22,000 people.

Klintsy
Klintsy is one of the largest cities of Bryansk region. It's population is about 70,000 people.
Klintsy has got a city status only in 1925, but is an old settlement - it was founded in 1708.

Mglin
Mglin is known since 1389. During last 100 years the population of town has not increased - as a century ago, Mglin nowadays has 8,000 inhabitants.
Unfortunately, only a little numer of ancient buildings of Mglin reached 21st century.

Novozybkov
Some year ago Novozybkov had selebrated it's 300-years anniversary (the foundation of the town is dated by 1701).
Today Novozybkov is one of the biggest towns of Bryansk region (with population of 43,000 people).
It is a very beautiful town - there are a lot of parks and squares in Novozybkov. This town is also known as one of the centers of The Russian Old-Beleivers' Orthodox Cherch
and as a largest settlement, which has been seriously polluted during Chernobyl accident.

Pochep
Pochep was founded in 1457. Today it is a small town (17,000 people), the center of agricultural area.
The main building of Pochep is, of course, the wonderful Voskresenskij (Revivel) cathedral, which can be seen from almost all parts of the town.

Sevsk
Many years ago Sevsk was a significant Russian city. Here was even a Mint. Nowadays Sevsk is a small town with 8,000 inhabitants.
You can find a large number of ancient temples and houses in Sevsk. Sevsk was mentioned in annals for the first time in 1146.

Sel'tso
Set'tso is the youngest city of region - it has got the city status only in 1992.
The population of Sel'tso is about 19,000 people.

Starodub
Starodub is known since 1080. In 17-18th centuries it was a center of a large region. Nowadays Starodub is a small district center with
population of 19,000 people. There are some ancient architectural monuments in Starodub.

Surazh was found in 1781. Today it is a small provintial town (12,000 people).

Trubchevsk
Trubchevsk is one of the oldest towns of Russia. The official date of town foundation is 975.
Now Trubchevsk is not a large town (about 16,000 people live here), but
there are many ancient buildings in Trubchevsk, the main of which is the Trinity Cathedral (12th-19th centuries).

Unecha
Unecha was found as a railway station in the end of 19th century. The city status was given to Unecha in 1940.
Nowadays Unecha has about 30,000 inhabitants. This town plays an important role as a local railway junction.

Zhukovka
Zhukovka is a little (about 20,000 people) young (1962) town. The largest factory of Zhukovka produces becycles.

Zlynka
Zlynka is the smallest town of Bryansk region. It's population is only 5,000 people.
Zlynka was found in 1702. Since 1938 it has a town status. Almost all territory of town is built up by old small houses
with a wonderful carved ornaments of wood.
